After winning election on June 9, 2020, Ron Bane was sworn as Monongalia Magistrate Division in on July 9, 2020, along with Magistrate Assistant Amy L. White. Bane’s regular term ends December 31, 2024. Monongalia County Chief Circuit Judge, the Honorable Cindy Scott, administered the oaths of office.

The Honorable Magistrate Ronald L. Bane, Jr., was sworn in over his Grandmother’s Bible that was given to his father in 1967. A small gathering of family, friends and court/government leaders joined in the ceremony. Social distancing and masks were used as a required precaution given the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I feel blessed to be able to do this and I’m looking forward to serving the county and doing the best I can,” Bane said after being sworn in. Magistrate Bane’s first hearing was held Monday, July 13, 2020.
